Sid Sahrawat is one of New Zealand's most exciting chefs, revered within the industry for his innovative and inspirational cooking. In 2009 he opened SIDART, his dream restaurant in Three Lamps, Ponsonby.

Passionate in his kitchen to the point of obsession, Sid has worked hard to make the SIDART experience accessible and personal for diners: “We aim to combine the precise technique and product knowledge of formal dining with a personal touch I'd like to think is uniquely SIDART."

Sid has won numerous accolades, he is Cuisine magazine Good Food Guide's Chef of the year 2016 and The Lewisham Foundation's Outstanding restaurateur 2016.


A consummate hospitality professional, 27 year old Italian-born Baldin has been working as senior waiter at SIDART since October 2014.
Baldin has more than 10 years' experience in the hospitality industry.
In 2007 he graduated with a high school diploma from Hotel Management and Hospitality School in Italy before going on to get a Bachelor Degree in Foreign Languages and Linguistics from Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
He gained his Master's Degree in Linguistic Sciences at the University of Bologna in 2014.
While studying, Baldin served a number of apprenticeships as both waiter and cook working in a range of restaurants and hotels in his homeland.
He came to New Zealand in September 2014 passing both the Introductory and Certified Sommelier exams organised by the Court of Master Sommeliers in July 2015.
