Sid has won numerous accolades, he is Cuisine magazine Good Food Guide's Chef of the year 2016 and The Lewisham Foundation's Outstanding restaurateur 2016.
STEFANO BALDIN - RESTAURANT MANAGER & SOMMELIER
Baldin has more than 15 years' experience in the hospitality industry. In 2007 he graduated with a high school diploma from Hotel Management and Hospitality School in Italy before going on to get a Bachelor Degree in Foreign Languages and Linguistics from Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He gained his Master's Degree in Linguistic Sciences at the University of Bologna in 2014.
While studying, Baldin served a number of apprenticeships as both waiter and cook working in a range of restaurants and hotels in his homeland. He came to New Zealand in September 2014 passing both the Introductory and Certified Sommelier exams organised by the Court of Master Sommeliers in July 2015.
" My passion for wine has origin very early in my life when I used to help my grandfather making wine at home, as almost every farmer does in Veneto. I got introduced to the formal study of wine while attending the hospitality school, while studying it in a more naive way with friends. Food and wine is what has driven my professional career and personal interest since when I was 14 years old, and still does very strongly"
